About Me

As a Computer Scientist, my passion lies with data. Date informs sound decision making, improves our well-being and quality of life. It progresses us forward. With a strong foundation in Python, SQL, Java, R, and MATLAB, Natural Language Processing, Machine Learning, and data visualization, I transform complex datasets into insightful narratives. My portfolio includes a variety of projects, including a paper that answers the question: "Will it Get Better" through predictive analytics with multi-layered multi-valued neurons, and a project that analyzed statistical differences in job postings to address Gender Bias in Tech Job Descriptions. This project, which featured ethical data scraping, advanced NLP, and both unsupervised and supervised ML, earned a spotlight on the THINKFUL blog after its presentation.

Object Oriented Programming In Java
Taught OOP in Java with a strong focus on video game design, creating text-based video game projects to highlight key concepts like polymorphism, inheritance, super/subclass structure, and more.

Computer Science 101
Taught Computer Science 101 in C++ to orient new students to the Computer Science department. Taught programmatic thinking, and design. We created programs that emphasized flow control, conditional logic, and programming syntax.

Student Evaluation: "Professor French is incredible at intro to C++. I started this class with absolutely no knowledge and by the third week, I am able to write codes that can pick random numbers or determine if a number is correct. It is basic baby steps but it is a great understanding to begin with."

THINKFUL Capstone- Analyzing for Gender Bias in Tech Job Descriptions. I used NLP, Unsupervised, and Supervised techniques to discover differences between descriptions.

Twitter Analysis with Unsupervised Learning I analyzed tweets of major news organizations to assess for similar reporting.

Internet Accessibility in the US-I analyzed and visualized internet accessibility across the United States to better understand where our problems are, and where we might start to fix them.

My Advocacy Work

The Pride Center- I am the founding co-director of The Pride Center We offer programming for students, employees and alumni, education, mentorship, and advocacy.

Chosen Name and Chosen Gender Policy My co-chair and I wrote, and implemented policy to support the use of a person's chosen name and gender.

Safe Zone and Bystander Training-I developed and presented bystander and safe zone training to help students, and employees create a safer and more inclusive campus.
